Invictus Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been setting up online tutoring arrangements since 2012. Our mission is to build and empower disadvantaged people to improve their future. We currently operate in Bangladesh, Ghana, India, and Uganda, with plans to expand into other countries.
At Invictus Institute, we believe that empowering disadvantaged people – and providing them with the resources they need to benefit the community around them – is one of the most effective ways to improve the world. By providing these people with access to resources such as internet and education, we can help them discover, grow, and share their individual talents.
We engage in projects that will create educational, cultural, and business opportunities, including pen-pal exchanges, online tutoring sessions, and safe internet labs for kids. Our team also arranges consistent mentoring and tutoring of individuals to inspire them and help them reach their potential. Volunteers meet weekly with students via Skype, and assist them with their schoolwork. Their weekly meetings help to reinforce what they are currently learning in school.
While reinforcing their class material is the core of their weekly sessions, the outcomes are improved English skills, communication skills, a better understanding of the value of education, and inspiration to work harder.
